Worship While You Wait

A friend of mine is a praise and worship leader who has an incredible song that talks about worshiping God while you wait. Each day of our lives is filled with incredible promise and hope of a great future. With every breath we take, we breathe in purpose and potential. While that can be exciting, it can be exhausting as well. Discovering what you want to do or who you are and actually doing that thing or becoming that person can be a long journey. In all of our excitement in that moment of discovery, nothing can truly prepare us for the long, some times excruciating periods of wait.
When you initially get excited, it seemingly does not matter how long it will take, because the hope is still fresh in your mind and spirit. Then time and reality begin to set in, and we either become anxious, complacent, or totally give up on what we were exercising our faith for. In thinking about what we can do during our wait time, I found myself encouraged by the words of the aforementioned song. “Wait with expectation, wait with anticipation…I will worship you Lord while I wait.” We don’t have to let our hope and faith die while we wait. As we trust in God to bring about everything He said He would do, we can make a choice to wait with excited expectation!
He is faithful to perform every promise. “Everything that is good and perfect comes from above”, and I would like to add…it comes at the perfect time. There is an old saying, “He may not come when you want Him to, but He’s always right on time”. Be encouraged ladies! As badly as you want God to move, He won’t do it when you think the time is right, He will do it when HE knows the time is right. He holds the world in His hands; let us not grow weary in well doing, but WAIT patiently for the promise. Don’t wait with pity, anger, or anxiety, but lift your hands toward heaven to worship and praise our great God while you wait.
"We don’t have to let our hope and faith die while we wait. As we trust in God to bring about everything He said He would do, we can make a choice to wait with excited expectation!"
